My names is James. I am a British Citizen and Archaeologist with a BA from Reading University in 2016. Currently, I am studying a Master's in Anthropology at Trent University, Canada, focusing on Maya.
I have worked excavating in England, Spain and Belize doing volunteer, research and commercial archaeology. I have experience in Belize and Guatemala since 2017, combining GIS-survey, LiDAR ground-truthing and close collaboration with local people and communities from the area.
Overall, I have spent more than a year physically working in Belize and Guatemala, in four field seasons and through remote collaborations afterwards to analyse the recorded data.
I will be in charge of setting up the semi-structured interviews together with Cristina Gonzalez-Esteban, aiming to learn more about the experiences of local people growing up next to these Archaeologically important ruins. Thanks to my GIS and field experience, I will also be a point of contact and advice for the processing of the data recorded through the different LiDAR devices. Lastly, I will be in charge of the logistics and well development of the project once in the field.
